Uwa Ohiku

Uwa Ohiku is a leading African IP authority and Senior Partner at Jackson, Etti & Edu. The first Nigerian appointed by WIPO’s Arbitration & Mediation Center to adjudicate domain name disputes, she has driven major national IP reforms, including the Trademarks Act review and Nigeria’s work with ARIPO. She also holds leadership roles with IPLAN, the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria, and The MediSSupport Foundation.

Her expertise spans international IP policy, legislative reform, dispute resolution, and commercialization. She has drafted OPEC’s IP Terms of Reference, produced the data-driven report behind record Trademark Journal publications, and contributed to The Brown Book. She is highly recognized—Chambers & Partners Senior Statesperson (the only Nigerian in IP), WIPR Most Influential Woman in IP, WTR1000 Gold Standard Practitioner, and featured in IP Stars and Who’s Who Legal.
