A distinguished economist, financial analyst, and chartered management accountant with over 30 years of experience, Dr Agama has held senior leadership roles at the SEC and served as Managing Director of the Nigerian Capital Market Institute, where he advanced regulatory capacity and market reforms.

He holds a PhD in Economics and multiple advanced degrees in finance. He is a Fellow of CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, and the IFC–Milken Institute Capital Markets Program. Dr Agama also serves as Vice Chairman of IOSCO’s Africa/Middle East Regional Committee and is driving the SEC’s agenda on digitalisation, investor protection, and sustainable capital market development.
